May Reminders

Dear Parents,

Happy MAY! I am so proud of the students who participated in this years Student Day evaluations from Levels Primary to 12.

We are now looking forward to our Spring Recital. Please see the attached information.

Some reminders for the remainder of the month:

1. May Tuition (#9 0f 10) is due.

2. Guild Auditions are Friday, May 25 and Tuesday May 29, 2018. If you have a day preference, please let me know as soon as possible. The great news is that the Auditions will be held here at our studio.

3. Lessons will continue through the first week in June. At that lesson, your final tuition (#10 of 10) payment will be due.

4.  In order to pare down the studio to a more manageable level, I will be asking one or both parents to come into the last lesson of the school year (The first week in June). We will be discussing goals for future study, consistent practice habits and how the student is progressing in terms of the track of study they signed up for in the 2017-2018 school year.

5. Registration for the 2018-2019 is now open. Studio space will be limited this 2018-2019 school year. I will be teaching Tuesday - Thursdays. Morning Lessons will be scheduled from 10am-1pm and Afternoon Lessons         scheduled from 3:00 to 6:30pm.

When you fill out the registration forms, please make sure to list three possible days and times for lessons.

RECITAL INFORMATION!!!

Annual Spring Recital

7:00 PM

New Presbyterian Church - Main Sanctuary

512 NE 26th Street - Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33305

Dear Families: You may invite friends and family to attend the recital. You may video. Please arrive in plenty of time to set up. Be sure your battery is fully charged as I (or whoever is videoing for me) will be using the outlet to record the recital.

No flash photography will be permitted during performances. It can be detrimental for your child to have distracting flashes going off while they are trying to focus on their performance.

Dear Students: Please wear formal recital attire. Long dresses or skirts for young ladies and suits or dress pants, and dress shirts with a tie for young gentlemen. Absolutely no jeans, shorts, tee shirts, short skirts, sneakers, flip flops, clunky jewelry, long fingernails etc. 

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the recital and check in for seating with the other students.

Dear Parents: Please bring a tray of food for the reception table. Please bring a little more if you have a large group attending. Please bring it to the table in the fellowship hall before the recital. I will provide the paper goods, cake and punch.

Also, please allow one and a half to two hours for the recital. Remember that many people will spend hours at a sporting event, yet have a hard time sitting through a shorter cultural event like a piano recital. I promise that we will move as quickly as possible through the evening and, hopefully, you will enjoy every minute. This is a celebration of all that your child has accomplished musically through out the year.

February News

Congratulations to Taylor Miller, winner of the Piano Showcase Musicthon Drawing!

Taylor chose the guitar and her teacher (ME!!!) got the Ukulele!!!! WHOOOP WHOOP!

Musicthon was a rousing success. We (our studio) raised over $1600 for Broward County Music Teachers Association. Students, if you are attending a summer arts camp, you can apply for a scholarship from BCMTA!

I hope everyone had a blessed and safe Christmas and are looking forward to a HAPPY 2019!

January Announcements:

1. January Tuition Payment (#5 of 10) is due at your first lesson of the month.

2. We will be having Theory class on Fri and Saturday, January 19 and 20. I will be attaching a schedule in an   upcoming email. The actual theory exams will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018. Please click on the Student Day tab on the lower right hand side of this page for the information.

3. Musicthon is Friday January 26, 2018. This is an important event for Broward County Music Teachers Association and for our studio. Please turn in all monies collected to me at your lesson the week of January 21-24. Please make all checks out to BCMTA. Please click on the Musicthon Link on the lower right side of this page to read all about it.

4. I uploaded an updated calendar of events. Please make note!

November News

Dear Parents,

Happy Fall and almost Thanksgiving! 

Please see below some reminders for the month of November:

 1. Tuition payment #3 of 10 is now due.

 2.    The date of our Christmas Recital is Monday evening, December 18, 2017, I will post the information online under the recitals tab as well as on the Announcements page. The website is: www.klassicallycool.com.

3.    I am still looking for a 2 CD set that I loaned to a student. Piano Literature Vol. 4 by the James and Jane Bastien. It goes along with the Piano Literature Vol 4 books.

4.    There will be no lessons the week of Thanksgiving November 20-24th. Please see the studio calendar.
