Happy Thanksgiving, Congratulations and other things!

Hello Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

We have some announcements and some reminders for this very busy month!

1) Congratulations to Gabriel Vasilescu for being selected by audition to perform at the Florida State Music Teachers Association Student Honors Recital. Only 15 students from around the state were selected and performed and we are proud that Gabriel was one of the three selected from our area. I will insert the video of his performance somewhere in this announcement!

*

2) Tuition No 3 of 10 is now due. To avoid the late fee, please pay your tuition by the 10th of the month.

*

3) Thursday, November 21, I am leaving to go out of town for a family reunion. Students who have a lesson on Thursday, Nov. 21 will have their lesson earlier in the week on Monday, November 18 at their regularly scheduled lesson time. Please put this on your calendar!

*

4) Our Student Performance classes in leiu of a regularly scheduled weekly lesson will be on Tuesday, December 3 for girls and Wednsday, December 4, for the boys both from 5-6:30 pm. there will not be regular lessons that week. Ensembles will also be scheduling rehearsals in preparation for our Monday, December 9 Christmas Recital. More details about the Christmas recital will be forthcoming.

*

5) Student Day Written and Aural Theory Exams will be held on Saturday, December 7. Info will be emailed to participating students in the next few weeks. Students should be finishing up their Written Theory packets and taking the time to listen to the Aural Theory tracks on the USB drive or the CD that came with your packet.

That is all for now!

Love,

Mrs. Purchase

Happy Fall 2024!

Dear Families and Students,
I have missed you and look forward to seeing you for lessons beginning on Tuesday, August 27. Please find the Schedule and Swap List for this school year on this website and the Studio Calendar, which has some dates still to be determined (TBD). As TBD dates are confirmed, I will update and republish the Calendar on this website at www.klassicallycool.com.
*
Please check the Announcement page frequently for updates and news. And please check your email each week before your lesson to make sure not to miss important info.
*
Just a few reminders as we head back into the studio:
*
1. Please make sure students arrive with all of the materials they will need for their lesson. Each student should have a one subject spiral bound notebook for me to write their practice assignments. *Some parents have found that it works best to make sure the books are by the door, or in the car the night before.
*
2. Please set a regular time for practice and stick to it. Consistency is crucial to establishing a routine.
*
3. It is the rare child that enjoys the loneliness of solitary piano practice.
If you can, sit in the same room and offer positive comments and encouragement if (when) the going gets tough. If your child doesn't understand the assignment, please contact me and I will reach back out to you as soon as I can.
*
Please understand that it is normal for children to complain about daily practicing. Even students who LOVE to play the piano and LOVE their teacher and their piano lessons, HATE to practice. Scheduled practice is a discipline (for you as well) that will serve them in all areas of life. Setting a goal and working towards it builds persistence, internal fortitude and confidence as they can see the steady progress of consistent effort.

Musically yours,
Mrs. Purchase

Monday, June 10, 2024, 7:00 PM

New Presbyterian Church 512 NE 26th St
Wilton Manors, Fl 33305

Student Attire: Formal recital attire is required - No denim jackets, jeans, shorts, short skirts, clunky shoes, sneakers, jeans, t shirts, long nails, football cleats....etc. No long nails will be permitted as they can actually damage the piano keys in addition to making it very difficult to perform.

Acceptable: Long and dressy dresses for the girls (fancy party dresses for very young girls) and dress shoes, slacks, button up dress shirts and ties and/or jackets for the boys.

Unacceptable: Boat shoes, Dockers, casual brown loafers, white soled shoes,  flip flops, black sneakers, and actually, casual shoes, or sneakers of ANY kind are not appropriate for a recital and will not be permitted on stage. If you question whether something is appropriate, please ask me.

If a student performer is inappropriately attired, I will ask you to take them home to change to more appropriate attire.

This is non-negotiable and is very important. I appreciate your showing of respect for the event and for your understanding and cooperation. Our students have worked so hard to prepare for an event like this and we appreciate showing your support in this regard.

You may invite friends and family. There will be a reception. Please bring a platter of finger foods, fruits/veg, cheese/ crackers or a dessert to share. I will provide the punch and paper goods.

Musically yours,
Mrs. Purchase
