Dear Parents and Students,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope and pray all of you are enjoying a safe and happy holiday.
As I am writing this, we  (the Purchase family) are busily preparing for our daughter's January 7th wedding. I wanted to remind you of a few things.
1. There are no lessons the week of Jan 9-12. Lessons resume on January 15. This week is the first of three extra weeks built into the schedule, for such a time as this :-)
2. Please continue to practice a minimum of 5 days a week, for at least the length of you lesson each day. Have your Musicthon piece(s) fully memorized. Practice performing them in front of friends and family.
3. When you return, please remember that January Tuition #5 of 10) will be due at your first lesson back.
4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Please bring in your Pledge Sheet and donations gathered to your lesson that week. Musicthon is Friday evening, January 20th at 7 PM. I will give you your t-shirt at your lesson. We will be wearing them to perform.
Information regarding Musicthon is  below this post. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email me.
I look forward to seeing all of you in the New Year!

MUSICTHON 2017

Dear Parents and Students,

BCMTA MUSICTHON “Raising Awareness for the Arts”

It is time for our annual fund-raiser! BCMTA’s motto is “Raising Awareness for the Arts”. All proceeds will benefit BCMTA student activities and ArtServe of Fort Lauderdale, with a donation being earmarked for the Broward Music Project; a new program providing free piano lessons for underprivileged children in the Fort Lauderdale area due to launch by the end of 2016. Please visit www.ArtServe.org to learn more about this local non-profit organization.

MUSICTHON will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Jan 20-22, 2017) at The Westfield Mall, 8000 West Broward Blvd. in Plantation. The mall is conveniently located at the SW corner of South University Drive and West Broward Boulevard.

Each student is required to collect a minimum of $15.00 to perform in the event. Each studio is required to emcee their own students and volunteer one hour at the BCMTA table following their scheduled time.

All money raised must be collected PRIOR to MUSICTHON. No money is to be collected, counted or left for pick up at the event. Please make sure that all checks are made payable to BCMTA. Every MUSICTHON student and teacher participant will receive a gift for their particapation.

Please begin your fundraising before Thanksgiving. Students will be seeing friends and family over the holidays that may like to contribute. Please print out the Sponsor Letter and the Student Pledge Form to give to your students. Thank you for your support!

Christmas Recital 2016

Christmas Recital

Monday, December 5th, 2016 at 7:00 PM

New Presbyterian Church

Main Sanctuary 512 NE 26th Street

Wilton Manors, Florida 33305

Dear Families: You may invite friends and family to attend the recital. You may video. Please arrive in plenty of time to set up. Be sure your battery is fully charged as I (or whoever is videoing for me) will be using the outlet to record the recital :) No flash photography will be permitted during performances. It can be detrimental for your child to have distracting flashes going off while they are trying to focus on their performance.

Dear Students: Please wear formal recital attire. Long dresses or skirts for young ladies and suits or dress pants, and dress shirts with a tie for young gentlemen. Absolutely no jeans, shorts, tee shirts, short skirts, sneakers, flip flops, clunky jewelry, long fingernails etc. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the recital and check in for seating with the other students.

Dear Parents: Please bring a tray of food to share for the reception table. Please bring a little more if you have a large group attending. Please bring it to the table in the narthex before the recital. I will provide the paper goods, coffee, and punch.

Also, please allow one and a half to two hours for the recital. Remember that many people will spend hours at a sporting event, yet have a hard time sitting through a shorter cultural event like a piano recital. I promise that we will move as quickly as possible through the evening and, hopefully, you will enjoy every minute. This is a celebration of the joyous Christmas season!
